Whilst working with Radikal Queen to develop her vision for a grassroots musician’s collective in Newcastle, her talent became truly apparent. We collaborated to develop a space where artists could meet, and several groups and individual artists have gone on to create albums, go on tour, and win national awards.
Radikal Queen is an artist who can’t really be shoe-horned into any clear genre. Her style is beat poetry, meets blues, funk and soul.
Northern Roots has been working with Radikal Queen since December 2017 to develop her collaborations with other artists, her ability to write and produce her own tracks and also to showcase her extensive talent.
Radikal Queen supported Benjamin Zephaniah’s concert in Hall One at Sage Gateshead – 29th May 2019, and released Eve’s Alibi in January 2020.
